In another life

In another life
we danced under starlit trees
barefoot on cool forest soil
as you twirled me
a milky way spun
in my planet struck eyes
Back then I existed

And even before that one
we tangoed through tangled wines,
unburgeoned brush
my firelit eyes
sparked and sparkled
as you dipped me in afterglow

And even prior
our forms formed new shapes
in former lives
slow dancing in lapping waves
waltzing in water
whilst my ebb tide eyes poured over
the miracle of your being

But in this one
we somehow forgot to dance
and to hold each other
as the sky holds the stars
as the smoke holds fire
and the sand holds the sea
but oh how your dancing eyes
still hold me

where on this earth can we go
so we can dance
and I can make you remember?
